If these commitments excite you, we would love to talk. The powertrain electrical department PCB Design Engineer is responsible for the development work on inverter, BMS & OBCM Printed Circuit Boards.


  • Design and development of Schematics & PCB layouts that will be used in prototype and production products;
  • Design multi-layer printed circuit boards with high layer count, high density, high pin count and fine pitch components, develop analog and high power circuit boards. Evolve designs through entire product development lifecycle by incorporating DFM, DFT and other ongoing improvements;
  • Collaborate with the Inverter, BMS, OBCM team to develop module specific power, control and gate drive PCB designs;
  • Work directly with the multidisciplinary engineers to ensure packaging guidelines, interface between SW & HW;
  • Collaborate with external fabricators to develop high quality, cost optimal, manufacturable, and reliable state-of-the-art PCB designs;
  • The role supports selection and specification of electrical and electronics components, reviews documentation (BOM’s, lists, schematics, diagrams, sketches, drawings, procedures and notes), supplier documentation and/or data sheets for design feasibility and alternative sources, and works with purchasing to resolve component procurement processes;
  • Worst case analysis, specification compliance, DFMEA, simulation, bench test, design for EMC, end of line test development and validation planning.


  • BSEE, MSEE or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with focus on power electronics;
  • 5+ years professional experience with developing Analog & High Power Automotive PCBs;
  • Experience with high voltage power semiconductor selection (IGBTs, MOSFET’s, and Diodes), gate drive and protection circuit design. (power converters ranging from 100 kW to 300 kW);
  • Knowledge of Automotive PCB layout, EMC standard and DV/PV standard. Experience in supervision of PCB layout for minimal stray inductance and capacitance, placement strategies for better manufacturability, power/signal plane definition and EMC optimization;
  • Hands on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging, functional and electrical verification, validation and diagnostics;
  • Extensive experience in troubleshooting and problem solving relating to power electronics, operation of typical laboratory measurement equipment and basic skills such as soldering / desoldering components;
  • Experience designing high volume products from beginning to end and deal with and dealing with contract manufacturers and suppliers;
  • Understands and appreciates importance of complete and correct hardware documentation;
  • Experience with Altium Designer, OrCAD/Cadence schematic capture or other equivalent PCB design software.
