If these commitments excite you, we would love to talk.  The  Sr. CATIA Designer (Interiors) responsible for developing design concepts in all the interior components & assemblies. A team player with a level head and superior communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Design for Interior components and assemblies;
  • Support Engineering Supervisors and their teams by assessing with design section development and supplier development support;
  • Support development of targets for investment (engineering and tooling), piece price, timing, against functional performance specifications;
  • Support CAD best practices and processes to ensure design quality meets performance specifications;
  • Support CAD Supervisor to Mentor the CAD Team;
  • Support team by example in design with an emphasis on innovation and speed to market;
  • Support overall program timing plans and mitigation strategies as appropriate;
  • Support feasibility assessments;
  • Understand budget constraints as they pertain to depth of programs supported;
  • Support tradeoff proposals against feasibility and budgetary considerations;
  • Support criteria section development;
  • Design concepts, components and assemblies as pre direction with engineers;
  • Continuously improve quality and cost.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years vehicle Interior Design experience;
  • 10+ years in Interior/Exterior Component Development/Design;
  • Design School Certification required; Undergraduate Degree preferred;
  • CATIA V5 and SmarTeam Super Expert Knowledge/Skills Required;
  • Structured Problem Solving experience (preferably in mass production environment where problems are unusual and difficult) preferred. Familiarity with DFMEA, PFMEA, QFD, etc. preferred;
  • Previous OEM experience required; automotive experience preferred;
  • Previous assembly plant launch experience preferred;
  • Dimensional Management and Understanding of GD&T required;
  • Knowledge of various materials, alternative fixing and joining technologies and applying those into the designs as appropriate. DFM/DFA skills essential;
  • Experience in developing Criteria Development Section (Gap/Flush) required. Ability to support engineers in trade-off studies and provide alternative solutions for cross-functional committee consideration;
  • Proven ability and experience working with Studio required;
  • Experience with various manufacturing processes: plastic injection molding, metal stamping & casting, and various soft-trim hand-worked processes;
  • Some Familiarity with FMVSS, CMVSS and ECE Regulations pertaining to automotive interiors;
  • Some Familiarity with various CAE methods and results interpretation: Mold Flow, Stress-Strain, Dynamic.
