Overview

Responsible for developing Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) systems including HIL system architecture, plant models, control and data acquisition hardware / software, testing / validation and overall integration of HIL environment for networked Electronic Control Modules (ECM).

Responsibilities

  • Works with his / her supervisors and directors.
  • Direct engineers and outside companies engaged in program and project work.
  • Must display ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, and negotiate and execute contingency plans.
  • Manages, directs, and leads the problem resolution and tracking process and provides feedback on status to tracked problems. Must be able to accept personal responsibility and accountability for major analytical and planning assignments.
  • Communicates directly with his direct management and cross-functional leaders as required.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork skills by developing consensus and win-win situations.
  • Evaluates and recommends options consistent with industry best practices.
  • Manage development activities with respect to product delivery schedules

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or an equivalent degree) in Electrical / Computer / Mechanical / Industrial / Systems Engineering / Information Technology, or a related field of study
  • 12 or more years of relevant experience in the automotive industry
  • 7 or more years of HIL experience for automotive applications
  • Expertise in various HIL-related programming languages (MATLAB/SIMULINK, Python, C/C++)
  • Experience in plant modelling (vehicle dynamics, powertrain, electric machines, advanced driver assistance systems)
  • Experience in dSpace HIL environment (MABX, RapidPro, ControlDesk, AutomationDesk)
  • Expertise in automotive communication systems (CAN, LIN, J1939, J1850, K-Line, FlexRay, Ethernet)
  • Experience in Diagnostics and protocols (KWP2000 and UDS)
  • Experience in automotive development tools such as CANoe/CANalyzer, INCA
  • In-vehicle communication networks such as CAN, LIN, FlexRay
  • Interfacing with Design Release Engineers and Suppliers to gather information pertinent to ECU interface requirements (ie., ECU & Sub-system Functional Description, wiring and block diagrams, and i/o pin outs)
