The PLM Systems Engineer Associate is responsible for supporting the IT tools and systems used by the engineering community for all design activities. He/she will work with the business to implement and maintain PLM, CAD, and other engineering systems.

 

The PLM Systems Engineer’s primary role is the support of the engineering community in the adoption and usage of the engineering tools and systems deployed in production. Secondary tasks include the documentation of the business requirements, the identification of opportunities for optimization, and the design of systems to support them, in alignment with the IT strategy.

 

Responsibilities

Support on-going business for IT Engineering Tools & Systems (IT-ETS), including:

 

  • Support the engineering community for the daily activities with engineering tools and systems
  • Understand and capture the engineering community business requirements for engineering systems and tools
  • Participate in ongoing business process improvement projects.
  • Customize/configure IT Engineering Tools & Systems software to satisfy business requirements and process design.
  • Perform problem determination and resolution within the Engineering Tools & Systems
  • Participate in system emergency or crisis situations to define/implement workaround processes, corrective action, communication, and system clean-up activities.
  • Assist the Application Developer with development activities; defining business requirements, design, testing, documentation, and implementation of system enhancements within their module/area of knowledge.
  • Participate in the design and development of technology solutions which meet security, network, infrastructure/operations, and customer support requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate and participate in system, integration and acceptance test efforts.
  • Develop documentation that effectively feeds training and change management activities.
  • Conduct post-installation system review.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of PLM, CAD and ECM products, services, and industry trends to select appropriate technologies to meet business requirements.

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent working experience
  • 0-2 years years experience with PLM applications (SmarTeam and 3DEXPERIENCE preferred)
  • Proficiency with CAD systems (CATIA V5, CATIA V6 preferred)
  • 0-2 years experience with Engineering Tools & Systems areas
  • Proficiency with IT infrastructure (servers, DBs)
  • Experience with DELMIA, JIRA, Polarion, is a plus
  • Extensive business and systems analysis skills that support applications development.
  • A good understanding of development and operational and processes within a company.
  • Extensive experience with product development methodologies and engineering lifecycle activities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate to various levels of management, internal business partners, and external suppliers
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to lead and promote change in an environment of rapidly changing technologies and business processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be proactive and able to work with little or no supervision.
