We are looking for a CAD Designer/Illustrator to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products.  You will join a team of talented people who work collaboratively with product developers, quality engineers, product managers, and usability experts to make world class quality products.  This position is focused on Visual Standard Operating Procedures (VSOP) and 3 Digital Assembly Documentation (3DSD) for Production Assembly operations.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and write technical documents for manufacturing, specifically Visual Standard Operating Procedures (VSOP) and 3 Digital Assembly Documents (3DADS) for Body Manufacturing.
  • Study Manufacturing Process and Product samples and work directly with Lead Advanced Manufacturing Engineer for technical clarification and scope of work for VSOP and 3DAD
  • Work with Advanced Manufacturing technical staff to make VSOP’s easier to develop, and understandable for the craftsman. Also management of the 3DADs management for changes.
  • Retrieved and use photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts from design software’s namely Catia V5, or Adobe Acrobat PDF, to improve creation and usability of VSOP’s in Microsoft Excel environment.
  • Make assemblies in CAD as required for the development of the VSOP.
  • Standardize the content of VSOP documents across manufacturing systems and media, and PLM platforms.
  • Gather usability feedback from production users and Advanced Manufacturing and Product Engineers and revise VSOP documents as needed.
  • Revise documents as new issues arise
  • Create new VSOP and 3DADs documents as new assemblies, or product design releases.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 Years’ experience in manufacturing & assembly process.
  • 3DVIA, CDVIA Composer, CATIA Composer, Solidworks Composer
  • Intermediate or above level of skill & knowledge using CAD software (Catia, or Solid works).
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written skills in English.
  • Proven working experience in design software and Engineering documentation.
  • Ability to deliver high quality documentation with attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures.
  • Basic familiarity with the SDLC and software development.
  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred.
