The Manager, Design Release Engineer will be part of the Electrical Team. The Manager will be responsible for managing a team of Design Release Engineers (DREs) working on several electrical modules and components. This includes but not limited to Vehicle Control Module, Key fob, Accelerator Pedal, 12V battery, Switches, Seat Module, Door Modules, Antennas, Airbag Module and sensors (Passive Safety). The Manager will be responsible for all deliverables and tests in accordance to Karma Automotive requirements and in line with program timing. In addition, the Manager has to ensure that all quality and reliability objectives are met.


  • Manage DREs and all related electrical components/modules.
  • Manage RFQ package creation to be submitted to potential suppliers.
  • Manage packaging of all electrical modules/components.
  • Manage DVP&R and DFMEA at component/module level.
  • Manage the budget assigned to the projects.
  • Support DVP&R and DFMEA at system and vehicle level.
  • Support Diagnostic Team to cover all relevant documents (e.g. DTCs, Service Technical Instructions) applicable to electrical modules to make sure they are compliant to Karma Diagnostic Requirements.
  • Support Certification, Safety, and Vehicle Integration Groups.
  • Support and work closely with plant personals.
  • Support purchasing in sourcing process.
  • Work closely with SQA Team supporting APQP and PPAP process.
  • Work closely with wiring team.
  • Hold weekly meeting with DREs to track latest status of all components/modules.
  • Hold PDT meetings with supplier.
  • Ensure that CRs are in place for any electrical component/module and BOM has been updated with all necessary documents.
  • Ensure that all MRD dates are met, delivering high quality modules in line with program timing.
  • Ensure that all components/modules are properly packaged and approved by Karma Packaging team.
  • Represent Electrical Team in cross-functional module groups meetings.
  • Interface EE system Architecture Team and other cross-functional module groups
  • Build up a good relationship with suppliers.
  • Provide weekly report.
  • Follow the direction provided by the immediate supervisor and execute the task.
  • Attend the department meetings.



  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years in a similar management role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Past experience of working on Electrical Modules in Automotive Industry (Supplier or OEM side).
  • Strong teamwork and management skills
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Knowledge of communication protocols in Automotive Industry such as CAN bus.
