Karma’s PT (Powertrain) Resident Engineer is responsible for powertrain engineering support for assembly processes at the Moreno Valley Assembly Plant for current and future build programs.

The PT Resident Engineer will oversee and manage the product assembly requirements as per design release intent. He/she will operate as a point of contact between the powertrain engineering team in Irvine and the manufacturing plant at Moreno Valley. The PT Resident Engineer will work with design release engineers at Karma to ensure part availability for Confirmation Prototype (CP), Production Validation (PV) and Start of Production (SOP) builds.The PT Resident Engineer will manage a database of the complete Powertrain Bill of Materials (BOM) for the Karma Revero and future programs; including pending Engineering Change Requests (ECR's), Parts / Process Deviations and running changes

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing parts roll out and manufacturing process implementation at the assembly plant
  • Effectively support mule builds of Karma vehicles.
  • Continuously review key vehicle details and technical specifications to maximize communication effectiveness and quality.
  • Manage continuous improvement of Powertrain strategies
  • Must maintain knowledge of vehicle technical details and continuously improve on this knowledge.
  • Must be able to understand engineering documentation.
  • Must be able to accept personal responsibility & accountability for assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to identify & resolve issues.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 Years of Engineering, preferably in the automotive industry
  • Significant automotive manufacturing background
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • The ability to understand highly technical engineering information and aid in the creation of manufacturing processes
  • Resilient and adaptable; able to maintain a high level of professional output in times of change
  • A winning mentality - demonstrates great drive to achieve outstanding results
  • Great organizational skills and the flexibility to do a wide variety of tasks when needed
