General Assembly Manager


We need an Automotive General Assembly Manager to come on board. (Work in a fast paced dynamic environment- with developing alignment between the Engineering, Quality and manufacturing.)



  • Successfuly manage the General Assy. department:
  • SAFETY – ensure all employees are working in a safe manner and environment according to company policy and OSHA requirements.
  • QUALITY - ensure that the quality Standards are met and satisfy their customers, Paint, Assembly and the final customer.
  • PRODUCTIVITY – meet production schedules on a consistent basis with efficient use of manpower.
  • COST – Meet the department budget and improve the budget forecast (labor, materials & Equipment)
  • MORALE – empower employees to be fully engaged in their work, their department, their plant and their company.
  • Direct responsibility for all department metrics and ensure goals and metrics are met consistently
  • Responsible for all quality, problem solving and continues improvements within the department
  • Responsible for managing all associates within the department
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective repair
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supervise the facility’s managers and supervisors; responsible for employee training and development
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • Direct and coordinate assembly operations within company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe plant.
  • Establish and direct assembly policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for assembly production goals.
  • Establish and maintain a positive community relationship.
  • Foster a well-trained and motivated staff.
  • Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, production, and shipping.
  • Responsible for establishing all shift production schedules.
  • Select and train assembly supervisory and administrative staff.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews.
  • Schedule and conduct plant assembly shop meetings.
  • Responsible for the product quality control for the assembly line.
  • Attend scheduled corporate training and meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree plus five years manufacturing experience or ten years’ experience in a technical or management position in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Possesses the ability to gather and analyze information and make data driven decisions. Demonstrated leadership skills and management perspective. Must be Customer focused.
  • Prior Assembly shop experience is required.
  • Toyota Production System experience and ability to apply principles in assembly line environment.
  • Must be able to walk the floor and spend most time on the floor 6 to 10 hours per day.
