The Vehicle Line Executive will be responsible for leading technical teams, interfacing with high-level design teams, integrating current, next-generation technology, advanced engineering, and be an integral part of new vehicle launches. Additionally, the role will involve extensive collaboration with program management, design, sales/customer experience, finance, and talent acquisition. The expectation is that the “VLE” will, from cradle-to-grave, lead all automotive engineering programs with: manufacturing assembly, vehicle integration, development, and engineering.


  • Works closely with the President / COO and CEO to set and execute the overall vision of the organization
  • Takes ownership of project/engineering teams by defining and tracking KPIs for success
  • Serves as primary contact for vehicle integration and communicate project status and coordination of open issues
  • Manages the product program proactively to ensure timing and program team objectives are met.
  • Interfaces internally with all departments within the organization
  • Plans and manages all program deliverables
  • Maintains P&L accountability
  • Generates team commitment and ensure APQP and simultaneous engineering principles are followed
  • Follows and continuously improves program management systems, contract review, and APQP processes
  • Works closely with the manufacturing team to implement changes that improve the product quality, reduces product variability, reduces costs, and improves and control process


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, etc.) Advanced degree preferred
  • Must have Automotive industry experience
  • Previous experience in positions leading large comprehensive teams in total vehicle integration (e.g. Chief Engineer, Director of Vehicle Integration, Head of Vehicle Engineering, Engineer Principal, VLE, etc.)
  • Strong background in engineering, design, program management, and launch
  • Experience in vehicle analysis, GD&T, and certification
  • Proven experience in technical vehicle program delivery
  • Experience leading / managing large engineering teams
  • Must be able to lead cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to provide robust solutions to complex problems in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Create and maintain staffing plans for hiring, training, and development of all direct reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong preference for related experience in both the United States and non-U.S. based locations, with an emphasis on China and other APAC locations.
  • Preferred: experience at a top-tier OEM and subsequent experience working in a start-up environment
