The   Software Engineer Integration & Validation is responsible for ensuring quality in current and future generation vehicles. The individual is responsible for test specification, test environment design, test execution and evaluating whether the product is fit for purpose. Exercises technical direction over other engineers or engineering support personnel and may have work direction responsibilities over a group with specific engineering objectives. Must possess and maintain a broad knowledge of vehicle-based communication technologies, wireless communication technology, and the IT infrastructure along with the integration these diverse systems with the car.

 

Tasks:

  • Testing functionality at the vehicle level including new feature development, new hardware introduction, and all software releases validation
  • Create test strategy for powertrain functions
  • Design, develop and validate test procedures
  • Help with development and integration of test/validation
  • Work with internal and external engineering teams and validate components and system validations
  • Create test plans
  • Manage technicians to support vehicle setup and test execution
  • Carryout vehicle-level tests
  • Validate vehicle functional attributes
  • Analyze collected data and report the results
  • Create “concern reports” for corrective action
  • Conduct countermeasures validation testing
  • Track status and report to supervisor/manager and engineering

Responsibilities

  • Drive system and torque control confirmation
  • HV battery and charging function validation
  • Support and improve exciting test automation framework
  • Vehicle evaluation per Karma vehicle functional attributes
  • Proving Grounds and off-site development events coordination
  • Identify concerns, drive solution and negotiate/execute contingency plans

Qualifications

  • Mechanical/Electrical/Automotive Engineering degree
  • Able to travel domestically within US and internationally on frequent basis
  • 5 – 10 years of experience with vehicle level testing and development
  • Embedded system experience 
  • Experience in operating data acquisition system and sensors
  • Strong data analysis and post processing skills to validate system performance
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle performance targets
  • Broad experience working in cross-functional teams and ability to influence design based on test results
  • Experience with vehicle CAN network system is preferred             
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
