If these commitments excite you, we would love to talk. We are seeking a Lead NVH engineer with hands on experience of powertrain, driveline, and vehicle testing with 8-10 years of experience. Be part of vehicle integration/ functional science department team in Karma automotive. This position located in Costa Mesa California.

Responsibilities

  • Play an important role in vehicle integration team to develop an NVH targets in components, sub-system and system, and overall vehicle.
  • Hands on experience in NVH instrumentation such as microphones, accelerometers, speed sensors, string pods… etc.
  • Have the analytical capabilities and translate NVH data to a meaningful reports to a technical and non-technical audience
  • Experience in bench testing includes working knowledge in chassis dynamometers
  • Be able to conduct bench testing and recommend NVH testing profile for powertrain and driveline components
  • Good personal relation skills since this position would involve working with multiple department and includes manufacturing support
  • Strong understanding on NVH fundamentals & implementation in full powertrain, driveline and vehicle system
  • Developing compatible vehicle architecture that meets specific NVH performance metrics
  • Analyzing and evaluating vehicle level technical specification for NVH and buzz, squeak and rattle (BSR) and supporting the target trade off process
  • Designing, developing and selecting NVH components in collaboration with design release engineers to ensure BSR prevention
  • Verifying design release compatibility with NVH targets
  • Developing and implementing test methods and procedures to meet NVH performance requirements and specifications, and verifying targets for sign-off
  • Utilizing noise and vibration engineering tools and technologies, including LMS Test Lab, Head Acoustics, or B&K
  • Interfacing with product teams, design release engineers, suppliers and CAE engineers on daily basis
  • Providing engineering input into the resolution and research of NVH-related issues and reporting to the management
  • Create new objective vibration & sound metrics enabling KARMA to assemble business case for refinement improvement item
  • Develop customer functional objectives and prepare formal documentation as required for each program including performance standards, DFMEA’s, DVP&R’s and related program management documents

Qualifications

  • BS in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering (MS Preferred)
