Engineering Supervisor, Production Control sought by Karma Automotive, LLC in Moreno Valley, CA.
Duties: Support prototype and preproduction vehicle and powertrain builds. Balance demand and supply requirements against manufacturing objectives to achieve efficiencies and performance gains throughout the supply chain. Execute and assess hybrid-electric vehicle programs throughout the production lifecycle. Minimize risks in future supplies, managing pricing and “just-in-time” delivery logistics. Minimize any potential disruption in the manufacturing process. Design and develop the production control and engineering change process, providing for orderly transition in the flow of production and materials. Plan, evaluate, and schedule the sourcing of sub-components for the construction of prototypes for new vehicle programs and powertrain modules. Identify and address potential supply risks and inventory exposures by aligning supply chain processes with product development project plan milestones. Develop and evaluate operating processes, practices and systems, as well as manufacturing performance reporting procedures and systems. Establish production variables, observe control points and equipment and implement cost reductions. Develop corrections to malfunctions within process control points. Modify systems and procedures and implement changes to meet manufacturing objectives. Analyze and plan for present and future material availability in collaboration with Purchasing and Engineering personnel. Plan for new materials, minimize obsolescence of old components and materials, and manage removal of surplus, substandard or rejected parts or materials. Design and implement continuous, automatic and transparent inventory controls. Monitor systems to ensure the uninterrupted flow of production and minimal inventories of parts and supplies. Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, budgetary and personnel requirements and implementing change. Promote the implementation of latest manufacturing systems software for managing “lean” production processes. Utilize Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software and analyses to monitor supply chain performance. Manage new and existing suppliers. Ensure quality, optimal pricing, design, delivery, and servicing in the assigned sector. Continuously benchmark technologies.
Requirements: Master’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, or related field, plus two (2) years of automotive engineering, design release engineering, or related experience, including: at least one (1) year of experience working with the automotive product development process at the OEM or supplier level; developing designs of low voltage and high voltage wire harnesses; analyzing device transmittal and wiring schematics; and implementing Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
