Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, the Business and Technology Senior Manager, is responsible for enabling the usage and integration of the next generation of automotive technologies for the Company.  Primary focus is on near term programs (K and K Customization) while concurrently looking at the longer term, next generation products. The Sr. Manager supports driving innovation and helps to ensure that leading-edge technologies will be incorporated into Karma Automotive products to achieve optimal profitability and enable Karma Automotive to be a technology leader.

 

Working collaboratively with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing organizations, the Sr. manager envisions, plans and integrates next generation technology road maps for such areas as infotainment, connectivity, EV and PHEV powertrains, body and platform, materials, autonomous vehicles, energy storage, wireless charging, and other key areas.

 

** This position will work in our Irvine, California corporate office. **

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate next generation technologies for initial feasibility and suitability for incorporation into Karma Automotive vehicles
  • Assist with the definition of future vehicle programs and content for engineering feasibility prior to program planning approval and handoff to the Vehicle Line Executive
  • Contribute thought leadership to the creation and on-going refinement of the Karma Automotive Technology Roadmap
  • Develop business and technology relationships complementary to Karma Automotive interests
  • Seek automotive opportunities that may hold potential for Wanxiang America investment
  • Develop a process for generating technology leads and vetting their feasibility

Qualifications

  • Requires a BS in an engineering and/or a relevant business discipline; MS preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years in an engineering development or business development with demonstrated results incorporating technology advancement in design and delivery of automobiles or other transportation vehicles.
  • Exceptional depth of technical expertise along with strong strategic thinking and business plannning capabilities
  • Demonstrated skills in taking next generation technologies and addressing their use and practical application in the design, development and incorporation in vehicles (i.e. driving revenue growth through innovation)
  • Strong leadership skills demonstrated through the management of engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate and share his/her vision, ideas and plans with colleagues and to be able to deal constructively with opposing ideas or opinions.
  • A proven self-starter with the ability to create processes and content results to address general or not fully defined problems.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to deal with changing priorities or the rapid turnaround required in a dynamic environment.
