The Karma automotive quality organization is seeking a candidate with automotive experience that will support our organization be compliant and support actions to drive, improve and deliver “100% Customer Satisfaction”, and achieve “Zero Defects” products and process for our customers.   Work will be conducted in a team environment supported by functional support organizations to assure compliance is achieved and the final product to our customers is nothing short of the “Highest Quality vehicles in their Class”.

 

The Quality Systems & ISO – Quality Manager position will lead, coach, train, monitor and drive actions across the Karma organization to assure our teams, products, and process are performing at their best and driving “Zero Defects” methodology, quality systems and ISO requirements.   Measuring success and driving continuous improvement through hands-on involvement sets the stage for this position, in our ever growing and expanding company.

Responsibilities

  • Examines, defines, develop procedures, processes, trains, audits and reports status to all levels of management, to assure Karma organization is aware and prepared for all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements and updates for the ISO 9001 & 14001: 2015 elements.
  • Train organization on risk-based thinking and sets standards for conducting “risk & opportunity” analysis, tracking, escalation and reports. Set improvement strategies by using Plan-do-check-act (PDCA) processes  
  • Reviews and updates the Quality & Environmental management systems: scope, policy, manual and procedures to assure compliance with ISO requirements, and drives continuous improvements as required.
  • Prepares quality & environmental management documentation and reports - by developing measurement strategies, compliance, and surveillance audits, and glidepaths; collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends on issue identification and resolution plans and implementation targets. Driving actions by enlisting organization support, and develop plans to resolve open issues, and driving continuous improvement.  Assuring ISO objectives are achieved.
  • Audit all required organization functions in accordance to ISO 9001 & 14001: 2015 elements to assure compliance and controls.
  • Develops quality & environmental criteria with support teams, interested parties, supplier, and contractors on all major systems and critical procedures, products and processes. Implement, and control through data & evidence, via procedures and document controls - PAD, Releases, Standards, SOP, Change processes, etc.
  • Serve as support & auditor between engineering, quality, logistics, supplier quality, purchasing, safety, environmental and manufacturing organizations, to assure quality of our products, processes, procedures, audits, and release levels are compliant, and in accordance to change management.
  • Generate corrective action reports and quality alerts to communicate issues to the respective organizations to drive actions with the responsible parties to drive improvement. Track and monitor performance
  • Develops criterial for ‘ISO Management Reviews’ with discussion on audit status in all areas and escalation and decisions on direction for all high “RPN/Risk” and “Critical decision” issues.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
  • Strong Analytical Skills utilizing common and advance quality tools – demonstrated
  • Lean/Quality production system proficiency with demonstrated achievements
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in OEM Automotive Manufacturing or Quality with leadership roles
  • MS Office proficiency including presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills and must be comfortable with working with people at all levels of the Organization
  • Proficient in the use of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • ISO 9001 & 14001: 2015 audit experienced

Preferred

  • Green Belt I/ Black Belt in Six Sigma preferred
  • Statistical Engineering (Shainin, Taguchi, etc.) preferred
