Body Shop Manager will lead the team in a fast pace work environment.  Lead the team with focus on Standardized work coupled with constant improvement relative to designed dimensional and structural integrity of the body structure.

The manager will build a team focusing on trust and integrity within the group striving to improve our product.  They must be able to convey the requirements to the support teams including the metrology, supplier quality and engineering teams.  The manager must be focused on producing a body that supports the success of both the Paint and General Assembly Departments

Responsibilities

  • Manage the success of the entire department:
  • SAFETY – ensure all employees are working in a safe manner and environment according to company policy and OSHA requirements.
  • QUALITY - ensure that the quality Standards are met and satisfy their customers, Paint, Assembly and the final customer.
  • PRODUCTIVITY – meet production schedules on a consistent basis with efficient use of manpower.
  • COST – Meet the department budget and work to improve the budget forecast.
  • MORALE – empower employees to be fully engaged in their work, their department, their plant and their company.
  • Direct responsibility for all department metrics and ensure goals and metrics are met consistently
  • Responsible for all quality, problem solving and continues improvements within the department
  • Responsible for managing all associates within the department
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective repair
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Direct and coordinate Body Shop operations within company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe plant.
  • Establish and direct Body Shop policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for Body production goals.
  • Establish and maintain a positive community relationship.
  • Foster a well-trained and motivated staff.
  • Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, production, and shipping.
  • Schedule and conduct plant Body Shop meetings.
  • Attend scheduled corporate training and meetings.
  • Select and train Body Shop supervisory and support staff.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews.

Qualifications

  • College degree plus two years manufacturing experience or four years’ experience in a technical or management position in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior Body shop experienced is required. Must be familiar with Welding and fastening strategies used in Body Shop. TPS or other similar environment is a plus.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Metrology and GD&T
  • Possesses the ability to gather and analyze information and make data driven decisions. Demonstrated leadership skills and management perspective. Must be customer focused.
  • Aluminum Body Shop experience is a plus.
