The Manager, Fixed Operations is responsible for the efficiency, effectiveness and profitability of the after-sales functions of Karma’s company-owned dealership; maximizing customer satisfaction through a focus on quality management; maximizing profitability through efficient shop function, productivity and optimal pricing strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Maximizing customer satisfaction
  • Progressively leading fixed operations staff across departments
  • Collaborating with the General Manager on long-term planning and annual budgeting
  • Continuous desire to improve
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly workshop area and parts department
  • Always representing the dealership professionally, both inside the dealership and externally
  • Ensures dealership compliance with local, state and federal regulations
  • Some travel may be required

 

Tasks

  • Preparing an annual operating budget, goals and objectives for each department and monitoring the departments’ performance.
  • Directing the hiring and training of employees for the service, parts, warranty and body shop departments.
  • Working with department managers to improve profitability and efficiency.
  • Creating and maintaining a positive relationship with customers, ensuring that department staff is helpful, as well as making customer satisfaction a priority to ensure referral and repeat business.
  • Working directly with customers and warranty clerks to administer warranty claims, as well as understanding and applying warranty guidelines.
  • Creating dealership service and pricing policies for approval by the general manager.
  • Ensuring that service repairs are performed efficiently and correctly by conducting spot checks on jobs.
  • Focusing on providing the very best customer experience while working toward a goal of every repair being done right the first time
  • Understanding and keeping abreast of the federal, state, and local regulations that affect operations, ensuring compliance with these regulations as well as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know regulations and providing necessary training on these regulations and ethical practices.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications.
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required but a college degree would be preferred
  • ASE Masters certification (preferred)

Experience

  • Experience with automotive systems
  • Previous experience working as a Service Manager preferred
  • Technical expertise is preferred
  • Experience with automotive tools and equipment
  • Practical technical experience with high-voltage drive systems
  • Experience working with DealerTrack DMS will be strongly preferred
  • 5-8 years of relevant work experience
