Overview

We are seeking an accomplished, innovative global brand/marketing executive who is both bold and creative in tackling the responsibilities associated with this Vice President, Marketing position. The person will be accountable for building an integrated marketing organization, initially North American, then Global and defining a comprehensive marketing strategy for the company.

 

The VP will be charged with generating revenue by increasing sales through the marketing of all vehicles and accessories, applying the learning of market research, product marketing, marketing communications, advertising, and public relations with a particular focus on the use of traditional as well as digital marketing and social media.

 

The VP will collaborate with the Chief Revenue Officer, sales management, product management, product development, distribution channel management, and customer experience departments. This individual will ensure that Karma’s messaging conveys our brand promise, positioning, and is customized to our target audience in order to meet brand awareness/recognition goals and lead generation requirements in key sales markets.

 

This position is based in Irvine, CA. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop an overall marketing strategy for the organization within accompanying budget parameters.
  • Lead the marketing function in order to achieve strategic short and long-term sales growth, revenue, and profitability goals.
  • Set the roadmap for building upon the established brand, and promoting it to build larger brand recognition.
  • Lead and support the Marketing team in the execution/implementation of all marketing plans.
  • Lead and support the Digital Marketing Manager in setting the web development strategy and continue to leverage technology and digital marketing channels.
  • Collaborate with Sales Management leadership to deliver on the sales targets and support the sales distribution plans with evolved marketing tools and programs. Deliver regular reports on all marketing/sales metrics as it relates to lead generation.
  • Actively monitor competitors marketing to provide competitive analysis, strategies, and tactics, and have the ability to be creative and agile in response to any competitive challenges. 
  • Provide leadership and support for internal marketing/communications.
  • Define relevant market research requirements as well as speak with customers/partners to understand what they need and want so that we can identify and differentiate existing and potential product and market segment opportunities.
  • Establish targeted customer value propositions and execute go-to-market strategies in our segment to meet company objectives.

Qualifications

Education & Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.  
  • MBA preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 10 years of senior leadership in marketing management, with at least three years’ experience in an executive leadership role. 
  • Global Multinational marketing experience.
  • Proven success in building a global marketing organization.
  • The ideal candidate will thrive in a start-up environment but also understand the challenges of scaling to the next level and ideally has had the experience of growing with a company, seeing what it takes to penetrate new markets.
  • Experience with launching products in and developing go-to-market plans.
  • Thorough knowledge of marketing principles, ability to understand changing market dynamics, translating them into actionable strategy, and implementing the strategy to achieve corporate objectives through a comprehensive marketing plan.
  • Fluent in all areas of digital marketing and social media.
  • Experience managing budgets effectively.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience desired with luxury brands and high net worth clients that purchase exclusive, low volume products. 
  • Ability to apply broad expertise or unique knowledge and professional concepts to develop resolutions to critical issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex, high visibility, or high impact projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work without supervision. Complete latitude for decision making.
  • Ability to create formal networks with key decision makers.
  • Ability to listen and understand information and communicate the same.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Must be results oriented and customer focused.
  • Proven global integrated marketing leadership skills.                                                         
  • Notable and recognized marketing thought leadership in core and advanced marketing practices.             
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, lead, inspire, and collaborate with a high performing global marketing team.
  • Superior communication and relationship skills                                               
  • Superb analytical skills.                                                 
  • Is highly effective in a variety of formal presentation settings; one-on-one, small and large group, with peers, and industry and regulatory groups.                                                     
  • Commands attention and can manage group process in presentations and meetings.                                 
  • Thorough knowledge of marketing principles, brand, product, and service management.                                            
  • Clearly and succinctly writes in a variety of communication settings and gets the message across that have the desired effect.
