    This position will be part of the Advance Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) team, integrating new active safety functions (such as Automatic Emergency Braking & Adaptive Cruise Control) in Karma vehicles.

     

    The ADAS Systems Integration Engineer shall work closely with Chassis and powertrain teams to understand vehicle dynamics and braking / steering behavior and limitations with the purpose to improve the overall systems performance and target settings for the feature. The systems integration engineer will be responsible for translating these findings into sensor logic so that ADAS functionality can be designed and configured to provide best possible performance and the right drive feel in different Powertrain modes. This position will also be responsible for studying, testing and analyzing specific behaviors of the vehicle, present test result data and help improve the requirements to the suppliers

    Responsibilities

    • Balance the sensor logic implementation with vehicle dynamics & braking / steering system limitations and work to improve each aspect of performance limitations
    • Work with ADAS and Chassis and powertrain Development teams to plan and execute ADAS + Powertrain + Chassis integration events
    • Diagnose issues found in integration events, and follow-up with cross functional Release Engineers to get these resolved
    • Instrument the vehicle with required sensors and setup to Take CAN logs & analyze data for performance and improvements
    • Work with Electrical Architecture Team to resolve any issues relating to CAN delays / jitter, etc.
    • Assist with setting architectural design direction to enable scalability and optimization of platform
    • Perform Calibrations, Functional Testing and Experimental Validation
    • Participate in test trips for overall system performance
    • Test and evaluate specific behaviors at the system level and the module electrically on bench and vehicle, looking for any anomalies and room to improve
    • Test and Validate each new Software release from ADAS, Powertrain and Chassis modules, to pick on any regression bugs or performance deterioration after integration.
    • Document and present overall improvements, progress as well as major hurdles from system integration perspective to Management Stake holders

    Qualifications

    • B.S. degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering with good Mechanical understanding OR B.S degree in Mechanical engineering with good electrical / software understanding
    • Experience developing / testing / validating adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, autonomous-parking etc.
    • Experience developing / testing / validating functions interfacing with brakes and steering systems
    • 5+ years of relevant experience (ideally with Automotive OEM or Automotive Tier 1)
