    Reports to the Vice President Supply Chain and is responsible for a team that determines “should costs” for all parts and cost deltas for all engineering designs and changes.     Responsibilities

    • Gathers, analyzes, and interprets product cost, financial, statistical and technical data
    • Monitors individual cost request timing, manages process to meet established timing
    • Prepares, analyzes and presents business cases to management
    • Assembles and explains all relevant information in support of business cases. Develops viable alternatives and sensitivity analysis of risk factors
    • Analyses specific product cost, comparable product comparisons, capacity analysis and review of multiple inputs and verification of accuracy
    • Plans and coordinates required cross-functional meetings to review progress on individual projects
    • Ascertains best practices and software for Cost Estimating and implements as appropriate
    • Supports the sourcing of “best value” products through domestic, international, and LCC suppliers
    • Apply VA/VE and Cost Estimation techniques to drive mass production and prototypes cost reductions in close collaboration with Module buyers
    • Reviews, analyzes, and understands key economic influences in the supply chain; and ensures macro-economic risks are effectively considered in BOM cost
    • Performs cost analysis with a thorough understanding of cost factors
    • Compiles and evaluates data for various weekly, monthly, and annual reports (cost reduction, market fluctuation, LCC, supplier ratings, supplier scrap, budget variance, minority sourcing, supplier expenditure, etc.)
    • Suggests, develops and implements continuous improvement ideas
    • Performs other duties as necessary

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Supply Chain Management experience
      • Supply Chain Management
      • Finance
      • Engineering (preferred)
    • Ten or more years of automotive experience (OEM or Tier 1)
    • Cost Estimating Expertise/Experience is required
    • Management Experience is required
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost structures is required
    • Knowledge of Cost Estimating processes, procedures, and software and the ability to implement effectively and in a timely basis
    • Willingness to travel as needed
    • Fact based negotiation skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong teamwork skills. Able to develop consensus and move the program forward
    • Develop win-win situations
    • SAP experience desired, not required
