    Karma Automotive is looking for Metrology Engineer to staff CMM inspection and quality inspection operations. This is a full time role where the candidate must be well versed in GD&T, mechanical inspection, and CMM programming/calibration and checking fixture certification

    Responsibilities

    • Create/develop CMM programs, confirm correct Engineering specifications within CMM programs
    • Develop CM4D reports
    • CATIA user, not CATIA designer, capable of accessing CAD designs and Engineering drawings from Smarteam
    • Knowledge of Checking Fixture design & certification, gage certification, CMM certification and calibration
    • Support engineering with the development, design and production of components, assemblies and with checking fixtures by providing relative dimensional input, direction & support.
    • Track & report on all program dimensional specification requirements and progress towards 100% compliance.
    • Knowledge of Control and Run Charting
    • Resolve dimensional specifications not meeting established targets to meet 100% compliance.
    • Assist with program specific and corporate dimensional engineering continuous improvements.   
    • Must be able to evaluate all associated tasks & apply accurate completion timing.
    • Must display the ability to identify problems, elevate concerns, recommend solutions & resolve issues.
    • Must be able to communicate efficiently & effectively with internal & external departments & work equally well within a team or individually as required.
    • Must be able to create and relay reports and presentations to management.
    • Ability to foresee & plan resolution for issues effecting the critical path of all programs

    Qualifications

    • Knowledge of automotive vehicle systems with an emphasis on automotive exteriors & interiors.
    • Knowledge of concept to launch program execution, with an emphasis Dimensional Engineering.
    • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing, Best Practices, Exterior/Interior Development Processes,
    • Minimum 5 years in Automotive Metrology experience
    • Bachelor Degree in engineering or equivalent in extensive Metrology (CMM) experience required
    • Dimensional Engineering software capabilities. (M3, PCDIMIS, Cm4D, Plyworks)
    • Basic PC Skills (Email, Excel, Word, and relevant technical software).
    • CAD & PDM capabilities preferred (specifically Catia & SmarTeam).
