    • With the continued electrification of vehicles, Powertrain Software development is a core Karma technology enabling next generation vehicles to exceed customer expectations.
    • The Director, Powertrain Software will focus on leading a team of engineers and scientists in order to execute current and future Powertrain Software development.


    • Be a key leader both internally and externally on all Karma Powertrain Software activities – both current and future programs.
    • Key interface with suppliers and regulatory agencies (EPA/CARB) for current and future programs to ensure timing, performance and quality are met to guarantee 100% customer satisfaction.
    • Lead and grow an internal team on Powertrain Software – talent development, recruiting and retention.
    • Special technical emphasis in these core areas:
        • Direct Software Requirements from Powertrain System requirements
        • Hybrid Control Unit (HCU) – overall powertrain system architecture
        • OBD (On-board diagnostics) of the vehicle powertrain
        • Engine Control Management (ECM) of existing and future engines in Karma’s EVs with extended range
        • e-Motor and Inverter Control Software and Algorithms


    • BS or MS in Engineering or Related Fields (Graduate degrees preferred)
    • 12+ years’ experience with Powertrain Software Development.
    • Experience with Powertrain Software for automotive applications.
    • Knowledge of electric and hybrid vehicle control systems.
    • Background in automotive component and system test engineering.
    • Proven track record leading and developing large, diverse groups of engineers and scientists.
    • Proven track record working with suppliers
    • Proven track record with regulatory agencies
