    The Program Finance/Cost Controller will develop plans and drive Cost Engineering activities to execute vehicle programs at the lowest possible cost. Develop and utilize competitive component and system cost analysis to recommend robust and cost effective solutions. Articulate available estimates, cost drivers, and content tradeoffs to vehicle module development teams throughout the Karma product development process. Drive cost effective decisions to meet program financial targets, while supporting the execution of class leading vehicle development programs for our customers. This position involves a high level of independent judgment, initiative, creativity, and drive. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, financial modeling and program management aptitude.


    • Work with Product Team leadership to develop, time, and maintain the vehicle program cost plan to appropriately support program cost objectives throughout the development period for assigned programs.  Track and report progress against vehicle program cost plan targets.
    • Partner with the Product Team leadership to establish vehicle program financial KPIs (e.g. Program P&L).  Measure and report progress vs KPI targets.
    • Collaborate with Engineering and Product Team members to drive a “design to cost” mentality, identify and communicate component/system cost drivers to achieve lowest possible cost solutions.  Ensures decision making incorporates input and decisions from SME’s in supply chain, engineering, and marketing,
    • Schedule and conduct cost development/cost reduction/cost containment/gap closure activities as required by Cost Plan or as requested by Vehicle Line Executive of Chief Engineer.
    • Support Karma Product development process program gate reviews and other leadership reviews with required cost and benchmark information pertinent to program execution.
    • Provide oversight of Karma vehicle program sourcing decisions.  Develop appropriate evaluation methodology/criteria for supply chain sourcing decisions and business case reviews including use of competitive benchmarking.  Performs detail review and approval of competitive bids before submission to program sourcing decision executive team.  Prepare financial analysis for business cases, ensuring make versus buy, strategic sourcing, and other proposed development project alternatives meet required financial measures (cash flow, payback, NPV, IRR, etc.).


    • Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Accounting or Engineering. MBA a plus
    • 7-10 years in complex product development environment with a focus on cost reduction - automotive highly desired
    • Strong interpersonal skills.  Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional team environment and partner with managers/senior leaders across the organization
    • Strong oral and written communications skills, able to create and present information to leadership and customers in a clear and concise manner
    • High degree of organizational agility, able to handle sensitive issues with prudent discretion across all levels of the organization
    • Commitment to delivering quality results and overcoming obstacles and challenges in a time-sensitive environment
    • Advanced Excel skillset, along with strong SAP, deep financial modeling and data mining expertise and proficient in PowerPoint
    • Role will be required to travel to Irvine, CA corporate office up to 30% of time.
