    The Vehicle Integration Senior Manager will be responsible for our “Vehicle Integration and Validation”, “Functional Sciences”, and “Functional Integration” teams.  With this function, the manager will be responsible to both implement and manage the vehicle development process and all the associated resources. 

     

    Vehicle Integration & Validation Engineering houses our engineering staff that own each of the vehicle level functional targeting, design best practices, Plant Liaison, and DVP&R/validation testing. 

     

    Functional Integration Engineering houses our Benchmarking, Weight Optimization, and Component Validation Engineer.

     

    Functional Sciences Engineering houses the hard sciences including NVH, Dynamics, Durability, Aero/Thermal engineering staff.

     

    This manager will work to develop streamlined processes to set targets, optimize designs work via best practices and benchmarking as well as execute vehicle level validation.  S/he will need to work closely with the Program Team, the CAD Design team, CAE engineers, Design Release Engineering teams, and others to determine the Architectural and Vehicle Functional Objectives processes of current products and new Architectures for the company.  Through specific functional targeting and benchmarking, this manager will work with these teams to determine program feasibility through design and content definition. 

     

    This manager should have a strong background in functional areas such as NVH, Impact, Dynamics, as well as Body and/or Chassis Design, preferably understand all disciplines, design criteria, and tradeoffs.  Additionally, they should be able to discuss and understand vehicle program design and processes.

    • Manage vehicle development process to meet all business specific targets for cost, timing, weight, and function.
    • Identify personnel training and development programs
    • Other deliverables as defined by director.

    Qualifications

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Hiring
    • Coaching and personnel development
    • Lead engineering team for development and achievement of functional objectives for Karma Programs
    • Manage and guide Karma employees through the development processes
    • Lead virtual and physical validation efforts for both the Design Verification and Process Verification phases of the program
    • Ensure all Karma Development Process Gate deliverables are met
    • Support prototype and production assembly events at domestic or international locations.

     

    Qualifications

    • BS Mechanical Engineering
    • Experience in Vehicle Integration is a must.
    • Experience in vehicle development (NVH, Impact, Dynamics and/or Body or Chassis design)
    • Additional experience in Design Release or Program Management is beneficial
    • Prior experience with evaluation of automobiles – preferably an expert evaluator
    • Experience with virtual simulation tools for the above disciplines
    • Based in Orange County, CA
