    The Service Technician will primarily be responsible for diagnosing and repairing all Karma vehicle systems and components.


    • Inspect, diagnose, repair and test Karma vehicle systems
    • Support the development of counter-measures of root cause failures
    • Repair vehicle systems to original specifications
    • Communicate acquired technical knowledge to the KA service and engineering teams, on an as-needed basis
    • Deliver work of superior quality on-time, efficiently and effectively
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving
    • Maintain a basic inventory of required hand tools
    • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
    • Some travel may be required



    • Document and report all work performed to manager
    • Work from detailed manufacturing documentation and/or verbal and written instructions to perform repairs and reconfigure vehicles
    • Support the development and execution of Test Plans
    • Test and analyze vehicle level systems
    • Root cause failures of vehicle systems
    • Identify and communicate new failure modes
    • Help to develop new service instructions, when possible
    • Update and maintain electronic and written records concisely and accurately



    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • ASE Masters certification
    • Associate’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
    • High Voltage training certificate


    • Extensive experience with automotive powertrain systems preferred
    • Extensive experience with automotive electronic and wiring systems
    • Extensive experience in automotive service, repair and diagnostics
    • Extensive experience as an automotive or electronics technician
    • Practical experience with electro-mechanical components or electric motors preferred
    • Practical experience in high voltage drive systems preferred


    • Broad knowledge of all vehicle systems (including powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal, exteriors, & interiors) & relative components, component materials & fasteners
    • Practical knowledge of vehicle networks (including CAN, LIN, and FlexRay) & relative systems such as OBD II

    Tools and Equipment

    • Proficient with electronic Test and Measurement Equipment
    • Proficient with hand and power tools
    • Proficient with machining and fabrication equipment
    • Proficient with desktop software (including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel)
    • Proficient with diagnostic software (such as CANalyzer)
    • Proficient with team collaboration software (such as Confluence and Skype)
    • Proficient with issue tracking software (such as JIRA)
    • Proficient with manufacturing instructions, electrical diagrams, and mechanical drawings

    Test and Analysis

    • Ability to analyze new failure modes
    • Ability to debug failures to component level
    • Ability to diagnose with OBD II diagnostics systems and data acquisition tools


    • Passion for automotive
    • Can track multiple assignments and tasks simultaneously
    • Good command of the English language, both written and verbal
    • Reliable, innovative, committed self-starter, with a focus on quality
    • Excellent communication, collaboration and organizational skills
