    The Sr. Manager of Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) will lead a team responsible for delivering a complete wire harness vehicle set including any power distribution centers. The team will consistent of Design Release Engineers (DRE), Systems Engineers and CATIA Designers.


    This management role will report to the Director of Electrical Engineering and be responsible for current production support and new platform launches.


    • Manage and direct the EDS team to design wire harnesses that meet quality, cost and delivery targets.
    • Lead the development of program-specific content that ensure compliance to all vehicle level and EDS requirements (incl. high voltage safety, thermal requirements, water management, reliability, and durability). Develop and coordinate new content device transmittals and schematics as defined by the program direction letters.
    • Synchronize phased changes per work plan for the high voltage and low voltage wiring to program milestones and in conjunction with the vehicle level validation schedule.
    • Lead the wire harness engineering and product releases to internal customers such as the vehicle integration team.
    • Plan the need and usage of CAE / CAD tools, methods, and guidelines for development. Lead the effort on documenting design requirements and drawing standards then address deficiencies.
    • Support all launch activities and aftersales follow-up (rework documentation, service bulletins, etc.)
    • Work in conjunction with purchasing and supplier development to ensure that qualified suppliers are selected for future programs.
    • Lead the Problem Resolution and tracking process (JIRA) and provide feedback on status. Develop, propose and negotiate contingency plans in order to address and mitigate risk.
    • Coordinate changes required for the optimal integration of hybrid powertrain control system into the EV/PHEV under consideration of functional and safety-goals, system constraints, and regulatory requirements.
    • Assist with setting architectural design direction to enable scalability and optimization of new vehicle platforms. Lead the technology integration from component level to system level.
    • Create RFQs and Statement of Work (SOW) for new EDS suppliers. Manage SOW deliverables based on acceptance criteria and timing. Collaborate with cross-functional module groups to ensure proper integration.
    • Drive DV / PV component validation to USCAR standards and manage overall DVP&R. Review the DFMEA / PFMEA with supplier and provide input.
    • Work with Karma plant personals to support any activities at the plant such as build assembly or part quality issues.
    • Visit supplier’s plant to conduct first piece sign offs, audit inline/EOL quality plans and ensure a robust manufacturing process. Support SQA in supplier PPAP process.


    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
    • Prefer Master’s degree in Engineering and/or Master’s in Business Administration
    • Minimum of 10 years in electrical distribution systems within automotive or aerospace industries.
    • Minimum 5 years of management experience
    • In depth knowledge of the technical processes involving 3D packaging, device transmittal collection, schematic creation and wire harness CAD / CAE tools (e.g. CATIA, PreeVision, and Harness XC)
    • Exceptional understanding of EDS product development phases, Change Management, Design for Product Manufacturing and Design for Vehicle Assembly
