    The Senior Buyer will purchase production materials, components, equipment, tooling, MRO items, and services utilizing new and/or existing suppliers in support of the company’s operations as well as manage the quality, cost, and on-time delivery of goods and services of assigned supply base.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee all commercial activities with suppliers
    • Interface with cross functional areas, including manufacturing, logistics, engineering, and supplier quality to meet program deliverables
    • Facilitate internal target costing, cost analysis, and reporting requests
    • Attend Product Development meetings for supporting execution assignments.
    • Interface with internal functions to resolve component and tooling payment issues
    • Balance current and future demand requirements with supplier capabilities/capacities to ensure completion of customer requirements
    • Evaluate supplier performance and request corrective action when required
    • Evaluate current and potential sources of supply to identify and prioritize areas requiring new sources of supply or performance improvement
    • Facilitate disputes regarding the return, rework, or exchange of defective materials
    • Support cost reduction projects and improvement initiatives to achieve overall
    • Comply with established corporate and purchasing policy and processes
    • Lead the supplier selection process; provide sourcing documentation and recommendations to leadership.
    • Negotiate contractual terms regarding cost, delivery, quality, transportation, and other standard or special contract terms
    • Accurate contract execution and record retention.
    • Prepare and distribute RFQ’s and lead the approval of supply agreements, including verification of all commercial terms
    • Engineering Change Management execution.
    • Maintain purchase price and raw material price trends and analysis.
    • Understand commodity part

    Qualifications

     

     

    • Bachelor degree minimum.
      • Finance
      • Business
      • Engineering
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Open to conflict engagement and resolution
    • Fact based negotiation skills.
    • Ability to coordinate a team (Engineering, SQA, Mfg, and Logistics) to a business case decision for best Supplier selection based on Quality, Technology, Price and Service.
    • Time management skills.
    • SAP experience desired
