    The Karma Automotive Quality organization is seeking a candidate with automotive experience that will support the operations departments of our assembly plant to drive and deliver “Zero Defects” products and process to our customers.   Work will be conducted in a team environment supported by functional support organizations to assure the final product to our customers is nothing short of the “Highest Quality vehicle in its Class”.


    The Manager, Product Quality Engineering  position will lead, coach, monitor and drive actions in the engineering Center to support the assembly operations (MVAP) to assure our teams, products and process are performing at their best and driving “Zero Defects” methodology.   Measuring success and driving continuous improvement through hands-on involvement sets the stage for this position, in our ever growing and expanding company.


    • Accomplishes product quality engineering human resource objectives by recruiting, evaluating & selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, mentoring, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing & recommending compensation actions. In addition to enforcing policies and procedures.
    • Maintains and improves product engineering quality by measuring performance and driving improvements, in addition to completing product, process, people, systems, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer, audit, and testing issues & complaints; collaborating with other members of management and support teams to develop & enhance our products, processes, teams, for K1 1.0 & 2.0 programs. Support DFMEA’s, drive quality into PFMEA’s, assure Control Plan actions, and validate Standardized Work performed on all product areas are completed.  Take actions on variances.
    • Prepares quality documentation and reports - by developing measurement strategies and glidepaths; collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends on issue identification and resolution plans and implementation targets. Driving actions by enlist organizations support to drive actions and plans to resolve quality issues.  Assuring quality objectives are achieved.  
    • Develops quality engineering plans for improvement - by identifying critical JIRA (problem solving tracking system) priorities by area of responsibility and driving: assignment, reviews, performance tracking and resolution of issues with confirmed implementation dates at the MVAP (Moreno Valley Assembly Plant). Drive actions and results.
    • Validates DVP&R & quality processes by confirming product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production products, processes & vehicles; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating respective procedures to improve vehicle quality. Drive Results.
    • Develops quality criteria with engineering on all major systems and critical products and processes to assure compliance to specifications and appearance standards. Implement through engineering and manufacturing documents via procedures, PAD (Production Assembly Drawings), VSOP (Vehicle Standard Operating Procedures), etc.
    • Support MVAP plant quality and leadership on plans to resolve Final Product Audit and internal perennial issues. Monitor all warranty and potential service issues.  Drive improvement teams to resolve issues with data.
    • Serve as liaison between engineering, logistics, supplier quality, purchasing and manufacturing organizations, to assure quality of our products, and release levels are compliant, and in accordance to change management.
    • Generate JIRA’s, corrective action reports and quality alerts to communicate issues to the respective organizations to drive actions with the responsible parties to drive quality improvement in product, processes and teams. Track and monitor performance
    • Works with program management teams to setup quality criteria for new engineering product introductions, and quality goals.
    • Develops criterial for ‘Program Gate Reviews’ with program management to assure manufacturing systems executions meet program quality imperatives.


    • Required:

      • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
      • Strong Analytical Skills utilizing common and advance quality tools – demonstrated
      • Lean/Quality production system proficiency with demonstrated achievements
      • Minimum 10 years’ experience in OEM Automotive Manufacturing or Quality with leadership roles
      • MS Office proficiency including presentation skills
      • Excellent communication skills and must be comfortable with working with people at all levels of the Organization
      • Proficient in the use of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
      • ISO 9001 & 14001: 2015 audit experienced


      • Green Belt I/ Black Belt in Six Sigma preferred
      • Statistical Engineering (Shainin, Taguchi, etc.) preferred
