    Design Release Engineer (DRE) – Vehicle Control Module  will be part of a team of Design Release Engineers (DRE) working on Vehicle Control Module (VCM) consisting of Body Control Module (BCM) and Security Control Module (SCM). In addition, Key Fob that communicates to VCM will be part of DRE responsibilities. DREs are responsible for specification, development, testing & integration of modules/components assigned to them. DREs are expected to work in close cooperation with other DREs and suppliers to ensure system maturity milestones according to vehicle program timing.



    • Write technical specification related to the modules/components assigned to.
    • Create RFQ to be submitted to potential suppliers.
    • Assist other DREs in test and SW validation at subsystem, system, and the vehicle level.
    • Build a great communication channel with the supplier.
    • Create Change Request as part of Karma Release Process.
    • Take CAN logs and analyze the data.
    • Review the CAD 3D Model and GD&T for accuracy.
    • Create component test matrix/legs in accordance to Karma DVP&R.
    • Review the DFMEA/PFMEA with supplier and provide input.
    • Work with cross-functional module groups.
    • Interface EE system Architecture Team.
    • Support SQA in supplier APQP and PPAP process.
    • Support diagnostic team to make sure that the module is compliant to Karma diagnostic requirements.
    • Support Certification, Safety, and Vehicle Integration Groups.
    • Work with packaging team to package the module into the vehicle.
    • Work with CAD designer to define and finalize the module attachment (e.g. Bracket).
    • Have weekly meeting with supplier to track the product status (HW, Mechanical, SW, Tests)
    • Work with Karma plant personals to support any activities at the plant such as calibrating the modules and EOL testing process.
    • Ability to use Vector tools such as CAN-case and utilize SW packages such as CANoe and CANalyzer.
    • Test modules at the sub-system, system, and vehicle level.
    • Provide weekly report.
    • Meet all MRD dates, delivering high quality module in line with program timing.
    • Follow the direction provided by the immediate supervisor and execute the task.
    • Attend the department meetings.
    • Visiting supplier’s plant to become familiar with their manufacturing process


    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Computer Science.
    • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
    • Past experience of working on Electrical Modules in Automotive Industry.
    • Practical knowledge of CAN bus & Experience using Vector tools such as “CAN-case” & SW packages such as CANoe and CANalyzer.
    • Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001:2015), as applicable.
