    The Senior Technical Author and BOM Analyst will create high-quality documentation and support the work related to the Service & Parts Staff in the Aftersales organization at Karma Automotive.  This position works out of our Irvine, CA corporate offices.


    • Create documents and maintain document updates and revisions related to the corporation and the Service environment.
    • To create and deliver work of superior quality, on time, efficiently and effectively.
    • Update and maintain documents as created and stored in the database.
    • Create and maintain the information architecture.
    • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
    • Excellent Written skills in English, great communication ability.


    • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirement
    • Create documents and maintain document updates related to the aftersales environment, including service BOM analysis and upkeep
    • Work using detailed verbal and written instruction/documents, from engineering, and marketing to keep the service network and internal network up to date
    • Be able to translate processes witnessed and/or experienced into instructions.
    • Provide detailed feedback to Service department and engineering when applicable of any issues that arise.
    • Support the Global Service and Technical Support team with timely and proper documents as needed.
    • Ability to follow, understand internal style guides, familiarity with APA and Chicago Manual of Style


    Education: Bachelor’s degree required.  Automotive manufacturer, dealership technician experience, ASE Certification is a plus.



    • 5-7 Years of practical experience in the automotive industry, preferably with premium manufacturer.
    • Knowledge of automotive dealership practices.
    • The ability to understand and translate highly technical, engineering drawings and information.
    • Experience with SAP.
    • Experience with analysis of an engineering bill of materials.
    • Familiar with engineering change request processes.
    • Broad knowledge of all automotive systems (powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal).
    • Resilient and adaptable, able to maintain a consistently high level of work and professional output in times of change, with a very dynamic company.
    • Proficient with desktop software including Word, Power Point, and Excel.
    • Experience with Adobe products is required (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Frame Maker).
    • CAD experience, Catia V5, Catia Composer experience required.
