    This Senior Manager, Packaging will be responsible for our “Packaging” and “PAD Docs”, and teams.  With this function, this manager will be responsible to both implement and manage the vehicle development process and all the associated resources. 

     

    Packaging Engineering houses our CAD Packaging engineers to complete all packaging related activities.  This includes matching physics based requirements with macro location with clash and clearance requirements including routing of all harness, tubes, and hoses.

     

    PAD Docs group houses our Designers responsible for executing the Production Assembly Documentation required for the assembly plant to assemble the vehicle.

     

    Responsibilities

    The Senior Manager will work to develop streamlined processes to set targets, optimize designs work via best practices and benchmarking work as well as execute vehicle level validation.  S/he will need to work closely with the Vehicle Integration & Validation Teams, Program Team, the CAD Design team, CAE engineers, Design Release Engineering teams, and others to determine the macro packaging processes and specific packaging actions. 

     

    This manager should have a strong background in Packaging and Design Release.  Additionally, they should be able to discuss and understand vehicle program design and processes.

     

    Tasks:

    • Hiring and management of each respective team
    • Development of strategically selected vehicle development processes
    • Manage Macro Packaging, Clash/Clearance requirements of the car
    • Coaching and personnel development
    • Manage Packaging process to meet all related targets.
    • Identify personnel training and development programs
    • Other deliverables as defined by director.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Hiring
    • Coaching and personnel development
    • Lead Package engineering team for development and achievement of Packaging objectives for Karma Programs
    • Manage and guide Karma employees through the development processes
    • Ensure all Karma Development Process Gate deliverables are met
    • Support prototype and production assembly events at domestic or international locations.

     

    Qualifications

    • BS Mechanical Engineering
    • Experience in Package Engineering is a must.
    • 10 years’ experience in vehicle development (CAE, NVH, Impact, Dynamics and/or Body or Chassis design)
    • Additional experience in Design Release or Program Management is beneficial
    • Prior experience with evaluation of automobiles – preferably an expert evaluator
    • Experience with virtual simulation tools for the above disciplines
    • Based in Orange County, CA
