    The VP, Vehicle Integration will lead achievement of best-in-class vehicle performance, durability and reliability through developing the voice of the customer, benchmarking competitive vehicle, vehicle technical specifications, validation and regulatory requirements that are aligned with strategic vision of the vehicle. Lead vehicle integration processes that ensure timely vehicle development tradeoff decisions that properly balance engineering design feasibility with functional and technical specifications, through design & validation phases, vehicle builds and production

     

    Responsibilities

    • Develop robust vehicle & sub-system technical specifications that encompass dynamic, static, NVH, perceived quality performance and requirements for Karma vehicles; establish processes to guide vehicle engineering execution to these specifications
    • Manage the attributes for Vehicle Integration to achieve highest perceived quality. Participate in sourcing process as required
    • Review component and subsystem design verification plans and test methods Conduct vehicle integration team meetings
    • Plan vehicle integration resources, including contracting engineering service suppliers needed to accomplish program objectives & knowledge transfer to internal employees
    • Manage projects to ensure timely program deliverables within budget and manage VI engineering service providers necessary to meet requirements Support vehicle development milestones and build events
    • Assist in the creation of specifications, vehicle P-Diagram, and other technical design documents
    • Develop complete and robust vehicle level DVP&R's that are executed on time and supported by on-time vehicle orders; ensuring that all vehicle builds have completed integrity and signoff prior to custodian delivery
    • Develop comprehensive plan for assembly plant test alignment and problem solving support
    • Develop and implement a vehicle integration process that tracks attainment of vehicle, component (internal & supplier) DFMEAs and DVP&Rs to 100% achievement Establish vehicle integration physical and virtual tools that support effective engineering decisions relative to physical (static and dynamic), vehicle interface, electrical and comfort attribute
    • Develop complete and robust vehicle level DVP&R's that are executed on time and supported by one time orders.
    • Manage the Creation of virtual test plans, DVP&R and Design Validation Methods Field support for evaluating difficult vehicle performance and NVH issues that enables quick customer resolution
    • Plans and initiates research phases/workshops/kick offs Grow vehicle integration capabilities & knowledge for engineering at every phase, including training, to establish a world class Karma VI team
    • Prepares presentations for executive management
    • Proactive issue resolution/tracking and negotiation with cross functional partners. Cradle (pre-program approval) to production physical test evaluations and engineering mockup plan, measuring attainment of performance attributes and confirming design solutions Required Qualifications: (include minimum Education and Experience requirements

    Qualifications

     

    • Minimum B.S. degree in engineering discipline; M.S. or MBA preferred.
    • Minimum 20+ years’ experience in automotive environment at the whole vehicle level (total car systems).
    • Experience with vehicle launch.
    • Strong knowledge of NVH, Vehicle Dynamics, Vehicle Integration
    • Strong organizational skills. Good logical problem solving and analytical skills
