    The Powertrain Systems Engineer is responsible for decomposing vehicle level requirements into powertrain system level requirements, creating system technical specifications, and validating powertrain system level performance.



    • Create powertrain system technical specifications.
    • Create and manage powertrain system DFMEA and DVP&R
    • Execute powertrain system testing cases, analyze testing results and create reports.
    • Validate the functionality and performance of the powertrain systems at system and vehicle level.
    • Utilize analytical models to support the creation of specifications and requirements (NVH, thermal, electrical, 1D vehicle, etc)
    • Manage specifications, requirements, and test cases in requirements management databases.
    • Interface with HW, SW, electrical, and thermal PT groups to understand feasibility of requirements and integrate components into the system.



    General Requirements for consideration


    Should be able to demonstrate a background knowledge and functional competence in the following areas:

    • Engineering product development process at system or component level (V-cycle)
    • Hybrid Powertrain subsystems
      • Transmissions, gears and driveline operation
      • Electric motors / generators. (AC Machines)
      • Power Electronics – Inverters, High Voltage Subsystems
      • Battery Packs (Lithium battery technology)
    • Powertrain Interface and intercommunication.
      • System architecture and intercommunication sequencing
      • Control algorithms and control system development and integration
      • Powertrain calibration
      • Diagnostics & OBD II


    Character traits and related responsibility

    • Works together with all teams in Powertrain, E/E, Vehicle integration, project management strong teamwork skills
    • Must display ability to identify problems and recommend solutions
    • Must be able to accept personal responsibility and accountability for major analytical and planning assignments
    • Good workload managing skills


    Required Qualifications

    • Undergraduate bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • 2 years of automotive product development experience.
    • Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001:2015), as applicable.

    Preferred Qualifications (In addition to required)

    • Masters of mechanical engineering degree (or equivalent).
    • Hybrid/EV Powertrain development with a major OEM on production intent development programs.
    • Experience with CANalyzer, INCA or similar software.
