    The Senior Production Control Planner will have a proven track record of experience in a manufacturing environment, technical background and a passion for electric vehicles. The Planner will work with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to fully understand demand and supply needs and balance those against operational goals while incorporating LEAN manufacturing principals.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Use Plan and schedule various purchased sub-components needed to build prototypes for new programs. Support program/s from prototype phase through start of production until transition to production sustaining team.
    • Work with suppliers to establish the appropriate delivery schedules for individual components, specifying quantity and frequency targeting Just-in-Time delivery; coordinate with Supply Chain Specialist/s and Logistics as needed.
    • Identify potential supply risks and inventory exposures by aligning supply chain processes with product development project plan milestones.
    • Maintain accurate MRP Purchase Order data to reflect confirmed delivery quantities and due dates from suppliers and resolve inventory discrepancies in proprietary MRP system and SAP.
    • Maintain supplies of all required parts/ kits for weekly/monthly production.
    • Maintain inventory at levels that maximize value and minimize the need for expediting orders in violation of lead time.
    • Effectively and proactively manage, review, and update Bills of Materials as needed to assure materials are available and properly documented and transacted.
    • Effectively manage inventory and the KanBan/MRP system such that material outages do not occur.
    • Expedite emergency needs to support the production schedule.
    • Conduct regular cycle counts to a goal of 100% inventory accuracy.
    • Effectively transact warranty returns and rejected materials, with guidance from Q/A.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree. Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial) or Operations background is strongly required.
    • 5-10 years related experience in materials management, production planning, material scheduling, or purchasing in a manufacturing company is required.
    • Expertise in MS Excel, including ability to maintain and enhance Excel-based material shortage reports, is required. (Knowledge of Macros a plus)
    • Familiarity in SAP is desired.
    • Strong problem solving skills, analytical capabilities, including ability to optimize delivery costs and inventory levels, are desired.
    • Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software, Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on demand is required.
    • Experience with NPI (New product implementation) is a plus.
    • Ability to present material status effectively in weekly executive meetings is required.
    • Open-minded, collaborative and team-oriented attitude is required.
    • Self-motivation and resourcefulness are required
    • Ability to solve problems in a fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision is required.
    • Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001:2015), as applicable.
